How much gas is Norway sending to Europe today?
Physical flows at each landing point for the latest complete gas day, against last year and the five-year average, with the outages Gassco has announced and a 30-day maintenance calendar. Read from ENTSOG and Gassco, updated through the day.
On gas day 22 Sep 2026, Norway sent 2,986 GWh/d of gas (about 270 mcm/d) to Europe through Emden, Dornum, Dunkerque, Zeebrugge and Easington. That is 4.1% above the same day last year (2,869 GWh/d) and 6.8% above the five-year average for the date (2,796 GWh/d, 2021 to 2025).
Gassco's public feed listed 2 events in force at 13:33 UTC on 24 Sep: Kristin, planned (yearly maintenance), 6.2 mcm/d, until 2 Oct 04:00 UTC; Åsgard, planned (yearly maintenance), 20.4 mcm/d, until 25 Sep 04:00 UTC. Gassco notes that events at a plant and at the fields behind it can overlap, so these are not added together. That feed carries only messages published or revised recently, so umm.gassco.no can list more.

One gas day for every row and the total, never a mix of days. A landing point counts only when all of its receiving operators have published it. Zeebrugge is the ZPT terminal (ITP-00106); the IZT at Zeebrugge carries UK gas and is not read. mcm/d is approximate, at Gassco's 2025 average of 11.06 GWh per million cubic metres. Norway's gas, answered with today's numbers
How much gas is Norway sending to Europe today?
Can Norway supply gas to Europe?
Yes. Norway is the EU's largest gas supplier: 31% of EU gas imports in 2025, and 54% of its pipeline imports (86 bcm), according to the European Commission. On gas day 22 Sep 2026 its pipelines delivered 2,986 GWh/d through the landing points ENTSOG measures separately.
Can Norway increase gas production?
Not by much. Gassco delivered 116.9 billion Sm³ to European terminals in 2022, 109.1 billion in 2023, a record 117.6 billion in 2024 and 114.9 billion in 2025, so the system has run near the same level for four years. The highest day at the five landing points on this page since 2021 was 3,910 GWh/d on 19 Apr 2022, and gas day 22 Sep 2026 ran 23.6% below that. The lowest was 1,128 GWh/d on 7 Sep 2023, in the April to September maintenance season.
How much gas does Norway produce?
Norway sold 121.8 billion Sm³ of gas in 2025 (120.5 billion Sm³ at 40 MJ), below the 2024 record, according to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate. Gassco delivered 114.9 billion Sm³, carrying 1,271 TWh, to terminals in Europe. On the 262 dates so far in 2026 with a complete reading in both years, to 22 Sep 2026, the five landing points on this page carried 872 TWh against 872 TWh on the same dates in 2025 (ENTSOG).
Is Norway running out of gas?
Not soon. Remaining gas reserves were 1,219 billion Sm³ at the end of 2025 (Norwegian Offshore Directorate), about ten years of 2025's sales. That ratio is not a forecast: reserves grow as discoveries are developed, and the Directorate describes the longer-term production level as uncertain, depending on new discoveries, investment and development decisions. Flows on gas day 22 Sep 2026 were 6.8% above the five-year average for the date.
How long will Norway's gas reserves last?
At 2025 output, remaining reserves of 1,219 billion Sm³ cover about ten years of sales (1,219 divided by 121.8). Production will not stop on a date: it tapers as fields decline, and new developments can extend it. The Norwegian Offshore Directorate publishes the reserve accounts each spring.
Is there Norwegian gas maintenance today? What does Gassco have offline?
Gassco's public feed listed 2 events in force at 13:33 UTC on 24 Sep: Kristin, planned (yearly maintenance), 6.2 mcm/d, until 2 Oct 04:00 UTC; Åsgard, planned (yearly maintenance), 20.4 mcm/d, until 25 Sep 04:00 UTC. Gassco notes that events at a plant and at the fields behind it can overlap, so these are not added together. That feed carries only messages published or revised recently, so umm.gassco.no can list more. Gassco publishes planned and unplanned events that may affect more than 5 MSm³/d as REMIT messages on umm.gassco.no, and schedules most planned maintenance between April and September, outside the heating season. An announced reduction is capacity, not lost flow: Gassco notes that many events are absorbed by the system without curtailing shippers.
Where does this data come from?
Flows are the entry Physical Flow reported to the ENTSOG Transparency Platform by the operators that receive Norwegian gas at Emden, Dornum, Dunkerque, Zeebrugge ZPT and Easington, one gas day (06:00 to 06:00 German time) at a time. Gassco does not publish on ENTSOG. St Fergus and Nybro (Baltic Pipe) are real Norwegian routes, but ENTSOG publishes them together with UK and Danish gas, so they are not counted. Outages are Gassco's REMIT messages from its public Atom feed.

Which ENTSOG rows count as Norwegian, and why
Gassco does not report to ENTSOG, so Norway's send-out is rebuilt from the entry rows of the operators that receive it. ENTSOG lists fifteen such rows for Norway. Three, the Emden (NPT) rows, have published nothing since 2021. The other twelve, added up as they stand, come to about one and a half times what Gassco says it delivered from 1 January to 22 September 2026. Some are copies: Dornum appears three times, as OGE, as GUD and as a "Dornum GASPOOL" row, all the same gas. Some mix in other gas: National Gas reports St Fergus as one terminal figure with UK North Sea gas in it, and Energinet's North Sea Entry takes Danish gas from Tyra as well as Baltic Pipe gas from Norway. Counting those two alongside the five points on this page would still overstate Norway by about 16%. The IZT at Zeebrugge is not on ENTSOG's list for Norway at all: it is the UK to Belgium Interconnector, and it is never read.
What remains was checked against Gassco's own deliveries by country for 1 January to 22 September 2026. Emden and Dornum together match Gassco's figure for Germany to within 1%, and Easington matches its figure for Great Britain to within 1%. France and Belgium read about 3% under, within the spread of the calorific value used to convert.
A gas day runs from 06:00 to 06:00 German time. The day in progress is never shown, and nothing older than two days back is shown as current. A reading below zero or far above a landing point's highest day since 2021 is withheld and named, never replaced with an estimate.
